Sioux City man accused of sexually assaulting a minor

NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) – A Sioux City man has been jailed for sexually assaulting a minor

According to a news release from the Norfolk Police Department, 36-year-old David Davis of Sioux City was arrested for first-degree sexual assault of a minor and resisting arrest.

On the evening of Thursday, November 14, Norfolk Police say they received a report of sexual assault from a 14-year-old girl. The girl told a Norfolk police officer in detail that she was forced to have sexual contact with Davis on Wednesday, November 13.

The news release shows that someone contacted Davis by phone and he agreed to meet the victim at a designated location. During the conversation, Davis made comments about the sexual assault of the 14-year-old girl.

A detective drove to the meeting location with the person who contacted Davis. When Davis arrived at the designated location, the detective exited the vehicle. As soon as Davis saw the detective, he turned and started running away.

Marked police units surrounded the area and took Davis into custody. Davis was initially housed in the Norfolk City Jail, but was later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
