Norfolk man caught with meth in home, vehicle sentenced to jail

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Norfolk man caught with meth in his vehicle and home was sentenced in federal court Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Brian Buescher sentenced Mick Hausmann, 55, to 11 years and three months in prison for possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of pure methamphetamine. There is no parole in the federal system. After his release from prison, he will serve a five-year term of supervised release.

On April 3, the Nebraska State Patrol stopped a vehicle Hausmann was driving. Officers found a glass meth pipe on a passenger and searched the vehicle. A bag containing 32 grams of meth was found in the center console.

U.S. Attorney Susan Lehr said troopers obtained a search warrant for Hausmann’s home and found more than 1,200 grams of pure meth.

This case was investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol.
