Scottsville man killed in semi crash in Simpson County

FRANKLIN, Ky. (WBKO) – State and local authorities are investigating a crash that left a man dead in Simpson County.

On Friday, Kentucky State Police Post 3 responded to the single-vehicle crash in the area of ​​1400 Cedar Bluff Road, according to a news release.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 1998 Freightliner semi truck driven by Clarence Hoover, 32, of Scottsville, was traveling on Cedar Bluff Road when it left the left side of the roadway and landed on the driver’s side.

Hoover was partially ejected from the vehicle and later pronounced deceased by the Simpson County Coroner’s Office.

KSP was assisted at the scene by the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, Simpson County Fire and the Simpson County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation continues by Kentucky State Police.
