Making a name: Tattoo can be a tip for Texas Suspect ID

Making a name: Tattoo can be a tip for Texas Suspect ID

Maybe someone will soon regret their tattoo.

Meet ‘Mr. Alvarez’, a man accused of stealing a bank card from someone’s mailbox on Wednesday.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office posted a witty Facebook post asking for the public’s help in locating the man caught on a surveillance camera.

“We’re looking for ‘Mr. Alvarez.’ BCSO investigators would like to speak with him regarding a debit card he is using that does not match the name on his tattoo,” the sheriff’s office wrote.

Money was withdrawn from the bank and a 75-inch TV and other items were purchased at Walmart.

He drove to a Security Service Federal Credit Union bank in the 5700 block of Northwest Loop 410 — which apparently has high-end security cameras — and withdrew money from the ATM.

Alvarez, whose arm is heavily tattooed, wore a bright orange watch. He was driving a dark-colored Jeep Gladiator.

Maybe he had trouble taking the money. Or maybe he was questioning his life choices because there was no smile, just a grimace.

Alvarez certainly got the money. Because he then drove to a Walmart in the 8900 block of West Military Drive. There he spent money on a 75-inch TV and other items.

BCSO investigators ask that “if you recognize Mr. Alvarez (or perhaps he loves the last name and wears the tattoo “just because”), to call them at 210-335-6000 or email them (email protected).
