Man dies after Tesla veers off road and crashes into tree in Palm Beach County

WELLINGTON, Fla. (CBS12) — A 55-year-old man died Friday after his Tesla left the road and crashed into a tree.

According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) crash report, Jose Garica was driving a 2022 Tesla north on Seminole Pratt Witney Road around 11:15 a.m. PBSO says he was driving in the inside lane.

According to the crash report, for unknown reasons the Tesla failed to negotiate a turn and veered off the road and went through a grass verge.

The Tesla entered a wooded area and narrowly missed several trees before the front of the vehicle finally struck one, the crash report said.

According to the report, the Tesla came to a final stop between two trees.

Garcia was taken to Palms West Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:02 p.m. Garcia’s next of kin have been notified, the report said.
