Woman charged with reckless manslaughter who left the scene of fatal crash in Mountain Brook

BERGBROOK, Ala. (WBRC) – One woman has been arrested on multiple charges after a fatal crash occurred in Mountain Brook on October 12.

On Saturday, October 12 at 1:30 p.m., Mountain Brook Police say they responded to a vehicle crash with injuries in the 3900 block of Montclair Road. When they arrived, MBP found a single-vehicle crash that ejected the driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old Robert Ashley May. May died a short time later at UAB Hospital.

Authorities initially believed it was a single-vehicle accident, but after interviewing witnesses at the scene of the accident, it was discovered that a second vehicle was involved and left the scene before officers arrived.

Officials later determined that the vehicle that left the scene of the accident was traveling at a high rate of speed and driving recklessly, which contributed to the crash.

After working to identify the driver and second vehicle, MBP issued arrest warrants and charged 30-year-old Hannah Gray Williams with reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.
