The highly anticipated boxing match between YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul and the legendary Mike Tyson on Saturday not only brought blows in the ring, but also dealt a huge blow to Netflix’s live streaming services.

Fans wanting to watch the clash at AT&T Stadium in Texas were left frustrated when the platform experienced a major outage, causing buffering, pixelation and repeated crashes.

The event, which started around 6am IST, took social media by storm, with viewers eager to see how Paul would take on Tyson.

However, when the fight started, Netflix struggled to meet demand, leaving thousands of fans stuck on loading screens. Despite repeated attempts to innovate, several viewers received the same disappointing result.

As expected, social media users flooded the internet with their responses. Fans vented their anger, with some using humor to deal with it, causing a meme fest.

Users shared videos of the disruptions they faced during the competition after Netflix crashed.

Users also didn’t spare Netflix employees and the IT head as they shared memes about the aftermath of the crash.

One of the users used the iconic Michael Scott meme template to express his frustration that Netflix, a multi-billion dollar company, was still having buffering issues during the Tyson fight.

According to Downdetector, more than 85,000 users reported problems, with major disruptions affecting cities such as New York, Seattle and Los Angeles. Netflix has not yet commented on the matter.

Meanwhile, a sold-out crowd of 75,000 people at AT&T Stadium watched the fight live.

The eight-round fight featured an exciting comeback from Jake Paul, who earned a unanimous decision victory after initially losing the first two rounds. On the final scorecard, Paul was ahead 78-74 against the boxing icon.
