A TOP Channel truck driver and his colleague appeared in the Harare court on Thursday facing charges of sexually assaulting a male passenger.

Richard Ncube (48) and Alex Moyo (22) were charged with aggravated sexual assault when they appeared before Harare magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa.

The two were remanded in custody till November 19 for bail application.

According to the court papers, on November 10, at Halfway in Chegutu, the complainant boarded a truck driven by Ncube, who was accompanied by Moyo who acted as his assistant.

The complainant, who we will not name for obvious reasons, was planning to go to Chitungwiza via Harare.

The court heard that the parties arrived in Harare where Ncube drove to Zim Meal Company in Waterfalls and parked his truck.

While there, the complainant remained in the passenger seat and dozed while waiting for sunrise.

Ncube allegedly took off the complainant’s clothes and started fondling his body.

The court heard that the complainant had asked Ncube to stop because he was not interested.

It is alleged that Moyo then intervened and produced a gun-like object and threatened to shoot the complainant if he did not cooperate.

Ncube is said to have smeared some Vaseline on his buttocks and started sucking the complainant’s manhood.

He had anal intercourse without his consent.

After the facts, the complainant slept in the suspect’s truck because he was not familiar with the area where they were.

The next morning, he left the scene and went to ZRP Mbare where he filed a report, leading to the arrest of the two suspects.
