Witnesses wanted in Southwark tube station murder investigation

A man and a woman seen in a central London tube station at the time a man was murdered could be key witnesses, police say.

British Transport Police said the pair “may have crucial information that could assist the ongoing investigation” into the attack on Sam Winter at 9.30pm BST on August 22 outside Southwark Tube station.

They asked the pair, or anyone who recognized them, to make contact, but stressed neither was suspected of criminal activity.

Mr Winter, 28, died in hospital two days after the attack and his family said they were “devastated” by the loss of a “much loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend”.
