Lagi Demetriou, who became a household name after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, has undergone a dramatic transformation since appearing on the show. Together with his father Demi, Lagi captured the nation’s heart with their hilarious, Greek-inspired Lord of the Dance routine, complete with blonde wigs, as reported by OK! magazine.

Although it was one of the most memorable auditions of the show, they unfortunately failed to secure a top spot and lost to dance group Diversity. However, ten years later they made a triumphant return to the Champions series, reaching the final and finishing second.

Now Lagi, a married father of two, lives in Cyprus, where he runs a barbershop in Paphos and hosts a podcast called CoolerBox. He now has a large tattoo of the country on his stomach, matching his father’s famous ink that was revealed during their first Britain’s Got Talent audition.

The adorable 12-year-old we remember now has a full dark beard and numerous other tattoos. His father revived Stavros Flatley with his cousin Samson, but Lagi hasn’t retired his dancing shoes completely. These days, Lagi’s world revolves around his family commitments and he asked Annika Crawford to marry him on New Year’s Eve in 2020, marking five years together.

Their wedding followed in the summer of 2022. The couple celebrated the arrival of their firstborn, Xenia, in March 2022, and welcomed a second daughter named Demetria Demetriou the following year.

The choice of the name Demetria resonates strongly with the family heritage, echoing the name of Lagi’s father, Demetrios, and has ancient connotations as it is associated with the Greek goddess Demeter. In July last year, he revealed on Instagram and TikTok that they were expecting their second child, Demetria, and shared a touching black and white photo of their newborn, tenderly held by Xenia.

The proud father shared a heartwarming video montage with his 27,000 followers, featuring clips from their breathtaking seaside wedding in September 2022, as well as tender moments with their daughter Xenia. The video ended with Annika beaming with pride as she revealed her blossoming baby bump, confirming that they are expecting their second child.

Lagi captioned the post: “I think we’ll do this all again, but we couldn’t do it better with anyone.”

Last month, Lagi paid a moving tribute to his wife and family on the second anniversary of their special day. “Happy two year anniversary girl, thank you for everything and the two little weirdos you gave me,” he cheered.
