1 injured after boating accident on Georgetown County's Intracoastal Waterway, officials say

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – One person has been injured in a boating accident on Sandy Island on the Intracoastal Waterway.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources said officers and investigators responded to Sandy Island in Georgetown County for a boating accident on the Intracoastal Waterway near the island.

The accident involved a single bass boat with one person injured on board.

Officials are asking to avoid the Sandy Island Boat Disaster so officers and paramedics can assist.
