Inmate accused of ordering gang murder from Flagler County Jail

An inmate at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility in Bunnell has been charged with orchestrating a gang-related murder while in jail.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) stated that detectives were notified on November 15 of suspicious phone calls made by 22-year-old Jebea Johnson of Palm Coast to family members.

During these conversations, he allegedly discussed gang activities and instructed a family member to use social media to target a victim who wanted to leave the gang.

FCSO stated that detectives reviewed the calls and discovered that Johnson used specific gang terminology in ordering the killing.

Further interviews revealed that Johnson had attempted to recruit the victim into the Kutt Throat Committee, a prison and street gang, while both were inmates.

According to FCSO, some people interviewed confirmed that they had sent messages on Johnson’s behalf, but claimed they did not understand the coded language involved.

Johnson has reportedly been in custody since June after turning himself in to face a slew of charges, including attempted robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, burglary, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.

FCSO stated that Johnson was already being held without bond due to a previous arrest for attempted robbery and other violent crimes on June 21.
