A Texas couple charged with drug trafficking after a traffic stop on I-65

PRICEVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Two Texas people face drug charges after a traffic stop that occurred Friday.

According to the Priceville Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle along I-65 SB around 5 a.m. for minor traffic violations.

After contact was made with the individuals in the car, a field investigation for narcotics was initiated. While searching the vehicle, officers found more than a pound of synthetic opiate in liquid form, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

PPD also told News 19 that more than $39,000 was also found in the vehicle.

As a result of the search, Rosie Victoria Swayzer, 30, of Houston, Texas, and Terrance Lee Kyles, 31, of Houston, Texas were both arrested.

Swayzer and Kyles were both taken to the Morgan County Jail and charged with the following:

  • Trafficking illegal drugs

  • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana-2nd

  • Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia

Both Swayzer and Kyles’ bonds were set at $820,000, according to Priceville police.
