Brazil’s First Lady Abuses Elon Musk, Drops the F-Word; his response

Brazil’s first lady Janja Lula da Silva cursed at billionaire Elon Musk at a G20 social event on Saturday, where she spoke of the need to regulate social media to curb misinformation.

A ship’s horn sounded as she spoke, and she joked, “I think it’s Elon Musk,” before adding, “I’m not scared of you, damn it, Elon Musk.”

Musk, owner of social network X, responded to a video of her comments by posting a laughing out loud emoji image.

In another post, he added: “They are going to lose the next election,” referring to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

The president’s wife was speaking at an event ahead of the summit of the G20 group of largest countries in Rio de Janeiro, which will take place on Monday and Tuesday.

Musk’s social messaging network was suspended for a month in Brazil this year for failing to appoint a legal representative in the country and defying court orders to block accounts accused of spreading “fake news” and hate speech.
