Winnipeg Comiccon 2024 attracts thousands of people

Pop culture connoisseurs flocked to the fourth annual Winnipeg Comiccon this weekend.

A parade of colors and characters filled the RBC Convention Center – with attendance this year expected to be more than double the number of people who passed through during the event’s 2021 debut.

“We will probably exceed 30,000 visitors this year,” predicted Comiccon program director Cliff Caporale.

This year’s Comiccon will feature several special guests, including Elijah Wood and Billy Boyd from the film trilogy The Lord of the Ringsincluding Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig, Maggie Robertson and the Trailer Park Boys.

“I feel like a lot of people know about the convention and hope to continue to grow and help people discover what the convention is about,” Caporale said.

Visitors are also invited to visit the exhibit hall for a variety of vendors selling merchandise and handmade goods with different themes.

Winnipeg Comiccon runs until 6pm on Sunday, October 27, admission is $40 for the day. More information can be found online.
