Tang contemporary art Bangkok is host Benzilla‘s new solo exhibition, Good Luck: Glitter Tinwhich runs from the time of publication until December 15, 2024. Featuring more than 20 works, including new sculptures and paintings, the show invites viewers into the contemplative world of Benzilla’s signature three-eyed character, LOOK.

Benzilla’s recurring theme of ‘good luck’ emerges as a heartfelt parting expression in the Thai language: ‘Chôhk Dee’ and a reflection of hope. This ethos resonates in his works, which channel memories, emotions and moments of introspection. The artist’s creations balance vivid visual storytelling with deeper philosophical exploration, inspired by the ancient Greek concept of theoria – a blend of contemplation, theory and self-awareness.

Central to the exhibition LOOKa character that represents observation and inner reflection. With its three overlapping O eyes, LOOK embodies a view that goes beyond surface-level observations. Benzilla’s artistic vision is further enriched by his exploration of color, with his color blindness adding a unique tension and depth to his palette. Early works showed bold tones inspired by street art, while his recent pieces use softer tones, reflecting a calmer approach.

“This exhibition reflects my desire for people to slow down, stay present and reconnect with their environment,” says Benzilla. By means of LOOKthe artist bridges the gap between external experiences and internal peace and offers a whimsical but deep story shaped by his encounters with people, events and emotions.
