Rohnert Park police say an interrupted car burglary led to gunfire

Shots were fired in Rohnert Park after a car burglary was interrupted, authorities said.

According to a news release, a 911 caller at 4:01 a.m. reported that when a resident interrupted two people trying to break into a vehicle on Barbi Lane, one of the fleeing suspects fired a gun.

Rohnert Park public safety officials found evidence that a firearm had been discharged near the vehicle, the news release said. They also heard that a bullet had apparently struck a house on nearby Beverly Drive. It is believed the bullet was fired during the Barbi Lane incident.

No one was hurt or injured, the news release said.
