14-year-old charged with attempted murder in Baltimore robbery shooting

BALTIMORE, MD – A 14-year-old boy has been arrested as an adult and charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with the Nov. 11 shooting of a 15-year-old in Baltimore’s Central District.

Police say the suspect shot the victim multiple times during an attempted robbery in the 400 block of North Caroline Street. The shooting occurred around 3:22 p.m. and was initially detected by a ShotSpotter alert.

Responding officers found the injured 15-year-old in the 500 block of North Caroline Street. He was transported in critical condition to a nearby hospital where he continues to receive treatment.

On November 16, the 14-year-old suspect turned himself in at the Central District police station. Authorities later took him to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was formally charged.

No further details about the case have been released, including updates on the victim’s condition or the suspect’s legal proceedings.

The shooting underscores ongoing concerns about youth violence in Baltimore.
