Stafford man charged after rental dispute turns violent

Stafford, VA – Early Thursday morning, a Stafford man was arrested after a violent dispute with his roommate over rent discrepancies.

Officers KP Hall and MA Holub were on Shaw Court around 3:02 a.m. when they heard loud noises and someone screaming for help from a home. Emergency services quickly arrived on scene to investigate the disturbance.

In the home, officers found two men, including Mychal Tamillow, who was reportedly drunk. Tamillow confronted his roommate about rental problems, which escalated when he broke open a bedroom door, attacked the roommate and demanded money. The confrontation was halted when deputies intervened.

Tamillow is charged with burglary with intent to commit a crime, attempted theft, assault and battery. He is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
