Strictly’s Katya Jones is punched in the face in an awkward blunder during her final dance with Wynne Evans – before being eliminated

Strictly’s pro Katya Jones made an awkward blunder during her performance with Wynne Jones on Saturday before being eliminated.

The Welsh opera singer, 52, and his partner Katya, 35, took to the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool with a Charleston routine to Carmen Suite No. 1: 5. Les Toreadors by George Bizet.

As the end of the routine included a shower of flying roses, Katya was hit in the face by a flower.

But the ballroom icon quickly regained his composure and gracefully got back on his feet – shortly before the dancing duo learned they were the eighth couple to be eliminated from the competition.

Wynne and Katya lost to Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe in a nerve-wracking dance-off.

Right Anton Du Beke called the performance ‘extraordinary’, but added that Wynne looked exhausted two-thirds of the way through the finish and his form dipped as a result.

“Pete on, that’s ridiculous. Someone must have spent a lot of money on the phone lines. The words dance the night away,” one viewer tweeted.

“Pete is safe above Montell?” asked another.

Pete and Jowita both seemed shocked by the results, with the reality star later telling Claudia: “I can’t believe it.”

Jowita also revealed that “he had prepared a speech and everything.”
