Two charged after assault and e-bike theft in downtown Orillia

Police say a man with a knife attacked a person at 6 a.m. Sunday; two Orillians are facing multiple charges following the incident

Two Orillians are facing multiple charges Sunday after a downtown robbery.

Orillia OPP say a knife-wielding man attacked a person in a downtown Orillia parking lot at 6 a.m. on Nov. 17 and stole his e-bike.

After a search of the area, officers were able to identify the suspects. Just after 2 p.m., officers were able to arrest the duo.

Amanda Hustler, 37, of Orillia was charged with robbery with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Christopher Draper, 40, also of Orillia, has been charged with robbery with a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, failure to comply with parole order, failure to comply with probation order, uttering threats (causing bodily harm) and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

Both parties were taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.
