One dead in Carter County crash

ZANEIS, Okla. (KXII) – One person was killed and four others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on US-70 in western Carter County Monday morning.

Oklahoma troopers on the scene told News 12 it happened around 8:30 a.m. at US-70 and Tribble Road near Zaneis and involved a silver car and a pickup truck.

A passenger in the silver car was killed.

The driver of the silver car was transported to an Ardmore hospital and then flown to a trauma center.

Two children in the backseat of the silver car were taken to a local hospital and are expected to be treated and released.

The driver of the pickup was taken to a local hospital.

The identity of the deceased is not yet known and the cause of the accident has not yet been determined, but police say weather likely played a role.

The intersection will remain closed and monitored Monday afternoon.
