Pedestrian struck on Government Street near Bankhead Tunnel

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mobile Police said around noon that officers were conducting a traffic accident investigation in the 120 block of Government Street.

According to the MPD, a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and taken to a local hospital. Her condition was unknown.

This was near the Bankhead Tunnel.

Police said traffic may be moving slowly in the area. Shortly after noon, police said traffic through the tunnel would remain closed for “another 30 minutes” while investigators continued their work.
