Police investigate alleged sacrilege and assault – FBC News

Samabula police are investigating an incident involving a 38-year-old suspect who is both accused of sacrilege and considered a victim of assault.

The incident took place yesterday morning when the suspect forcibly entered a church and attacked a security guard.

However, he was disturbed and fled.

As he fled, bystanders apprehended the suspect and assaulted him.

The attack was captured in a video now circulating on social media.

The suspect is still in custody and detectives are also investigating the assault.

Efforts are underway to identify those involved in the alleged attack on the suspect.

Fiji Police are urging the public not to take the law into their own hands as this could lead to serious injury or even loss of life.
