NBA fans shocked by 76ers’ terrible start after another loss to Heat

In South Beach, the Philadelphia 76ers were happy to hear that veteran center Joel Embiid could play after initially being downgraded to questionable against the Miami Heat on Monday night.

At 2-10 in the Eastern Conference, the Sixers could certainly use a boost.

Embiid ended up playing and the Sixers started Monday’s game on the right foot. Early in the first half, the Sixers led by almost 20 points. Going into halftime, the once comfortable lead had almost disappeared. The Sixers led by three at the break.

In the third quarter, the Heat flipped the script. By beating the Sixers 35-16, Miami gained a lead of more than 15 points. Entering the fourth quarter, the Sixers trailed 88-72.

At that point, the Sixers lost all momentum. They ultimately fell short with a 106-89 loss. While a 20-point performance from rookie Jared McCain looked great again for the Sixers’ draft decision that took place in June, everything else seemed questionable at best.

Paul George finished the game with just 18 points in 32 minutes. He missed all but one of his seven shots from three. Caleb Martin and Kyle Lowry’s return to Miami ended with them combining for 12 points. All that production came from Martin, while Lowry went scoreless.

As for the ailing Joel Embiid, he had another uneventful outing. By making five of his eleven shots from the field and not registering a single free throw, Embiid was good for eleven points.

That loss dropped the Sixers to 2-11 on the season. Each loss further shocks NBA fans who believed the Sixers would be a real threat in the Eastern Conference after a productive offseason.

@BricksCenter: The 76ers are imploding right in front of us

@Bantonappp: Raptors missing half their team have better record than Embiid-led 76ers

@LegionHoops: The 76ers are now 2-11 on the season. They are tied with the Wizards for the WORST record in the NBA

@lucarosano3: Man the Raptors might have to worry about the 76ers in this tankathon

@DraftDeeper: I can’t describe how this 76ers situation gets better. Joel Embiid is a barbecue chicken right now in that deep drop, guys like Oubre not getting going, lack of size on the glass. There just isn’t enough defensive support even with Maxey, McCain and George++ set to OFF

@kingtisemedia: 76ers really 2-10 dude lol
