Shreveport mother arrested for allegedly hitting child with an extension cord

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Shreveport Police were contacted by Southern Hills Elementary School at 11:50 a.m. on Friday, November 15 regarding allegations of abuse.

CRIME IN THE ARKLATEX

Officials say staff reported that a 9-year-old student was experiencing pain and difficulty sitting. When asked about the injuries, the student said their mother had hit them with an extension cord.

The La. Department of Children & Family Services responded to the school and reported that the child had visible injuries including looped welts, bruising and swelling on the upper thigh.

Daisha Davis was arrested and charged with assault on a minor.
