Four students killed, another injured when bus collides with bicycle

Four students on bicycles were hit by a private bus, killing three and seriously injuring one, at Jazampatti area of ​​Magorra police station in Mathura.

The victims were students of Krishna Pyari Shukla College, and all were pursuing bachelor’s degrees in agriculture.

The students, who hail from Bharatpur, were on their way to their college when the accident took place. According to police, the incident took place on Tuesday morning when the students were riding on bicycles near Jazampatti.

The bus, which was coming from the opposite direction, collided with them, killing 20-year-old Ritesh, along with his colleagues Chetan and Mukul, all residents of Manpuria in Bayana, Bharatpur, on the spot.

The fourth student, Ramkesh, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the district hospital. His condition was considered critical and doctors referred him to Agra Medical College for further treatment.

The bus driver fled after the accident and police have since registered a case and launched a manhunt to arrest him and seize the bus.

The family of the deceased students arrived at the hospital and later visited the post-mortem house to identify the bodies.

In another incident, a speeding car lost control and collided with a roadside tree on Tuesday, killing two youths and seriously injuring three others.

The five youths, all from Subhashnagar police station area, were on their way to Nanakmatta Gurudwara in Uttarakhand when the accident took place.

The car hit a tree at high speed in the Devraniyan area, causing a devastating impact.

Sunil Bajaj, a bicycle dealer, and Gaurav, a resident of Nekpur, died on the spot.

Three others — Harpreet Singh Golu, the media officer of Subhashnagar Gurudwara, and his friends Ajji and Prem Sahni — sustained injuries.

Harpreet suffered a fracture in his leg while the others were receiving treatment at a private medical college.

Devraniyan police have seized the vehicle and investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Bareilly, a truck traveling from Shahjahanpur to Haryana collided with a stationary truck near Bilwa Bridge in Bhojipura, resulting in the death of the truck driver and serious injuries to his helper.

The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Ismail, a resident of Umdasar village in Shahjahanpur.

He was driving the truck when it crashed into a parked truck on the highway. Ismail was killed instantly.

His helper, who was seriously injured, was rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Police arrived at the scene and sent the body for post-mortem while investigations were underway.
