Sumter police investigate after shots fired into occupied home, reward offered for suspect’s arrest

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – The Sumter Police Department is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect accused of shooting into a home with adults and children inside earlier this week.

Police believe the shooting began Wednesday morning when someone fired shots into the home of 21-year-old Ty’Heim Anthony James.

According to Sumter police, James exited the home and began shooting along Robney Drive and into another home.

Police say several people, including adults and children, were at the scene when the shots were fired.

There were no injuries, but nearby properties and vehicles sustained damage.

Sumter Police say if anyone has any information about his whereabouts, call the Sumter Police Department at 803-436-2700.
