‘Government should arrest Adani today itself’: Rahul Gandhi’s ultimatum to Modi over $265 million bribery allegations

Congress MP and Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday issued an ultimatum to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government to arrest Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, today itself. He added that it is very clear that Adani has not only violated Indian law but also US law.

Gandhi further accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of protecting Adani. His press conference came hours after the US indictment against the industrialist was released on Thursday morning.

In this indictment, Adani and other defendants were accused of promising bribes to Indian government officials to win energy contracts. Adani and the other defendants also allegedly concealed these actions when raising money from American investors.
