Louisiana woman accused of setting fire to a house while her daughter was arrested inside

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office has arrested a woman accused of setting her home on fire with her daughter inside.

According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Lucille Holloway was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Jail on charges of aggravated arson, cruelty to a minor, insurance fraud and misdemeanor theft.

LPSO said firefighters responded to a house fire in the 36000 block of Nicholas Drive in Walker on Oct. 19. Investigators discovered that Holloway and her 11-year-old daughter were inside the home at the time of the fire, but were able to get outside.

During the investigation, officials determined the fire was deliberately set. Investigators also learned that the home was foreclosed on and Holloway accepted financial assistance from a disaster relief organization.
