A woman turned out to be her friend Carrie’s Miranda when she gave her a Sex and the city-themed bridal shower.

When Nathalie Goudy was planning a bridal shower for one of her best friends, Kylie Torres, she knew making this theme their favorite would be a success. television program, Sex and the city.

“Kylie and I are huge Sex and the City fans – we quote it all the time,” Goudy tells PEOPLE exclusively. “She actually came up with the Sex and the city theme itself, and together we went through a list of things she wanted in the shower, and I went from there!”

She added, “It was especially fun for me to plan and execute since I know the show so well.”

“maybe we can be each other’s soulmates,” the host captioned a TikTok video from the Nov. 9 party, referencing a famous line from Charlotte York (Kristin Davis). “Maybe we can be each other’s soulmates. And then we can just let men be great, nice guys to have fun with,” the art dealer told her friends in the first episode of the fourth season.

The video showed all the party details, including New York-style pizza and fries served in mini-taxis and skyscrapers, pretzels decorated like cigarettes, and the tomato-basil salad that Charlotte encouraged Trey MacDougal (Kyle MacLachlan) to order.

Even the cake was a nod to one of the show’s most infamous breakups. In Sex and the cityCarrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) is broken by her boyfriendJack Berger (Ron Livingston) via a post-it note on her pillowcase that read, “I’m sorry, I can’t do that. Don’t hate me.” The bridal shower cake was instead covered with the text: “I’m sorry, I do. Don’t hate me.”

Pink flyers with a photo of the bride’s fiancée plastered the walls, similar to how Sex and the city‘s Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) put up flyers of Richard Wright (James Remar) all over New York after he cheated on her. But instead of “Cheater!” and “Liar!!!” written on it, the new papers said “Fiance!” and “The perfect man!!”

Also for decoration were Manolo Blahnik shoe boxes, editions of Fashiona custom magazine cover of the bride saying ‘Engaged & Fabulous’ and balloons saying ‘Bride And The City’. Lilac-colored roses stood on tables, representing how Steve Brady (David Eigenberg) won Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) back with her favorite flowers, lilacs.

“Everyone loved showering,” said Goudy, who noted that the party took three months to plan. “Kylie was thrilled to see how everything came together and to see all the little nods to the show scattered throughout. While not everyone in attendance knew the episodes as obsessively as we did, everyone thought it was a really fun and well-developed episode theme. Her mother-in-law sent me a very sweet message afterwards.”

A playlist of songs from the popular HBO show set the mood.
