APD asks for help finding suspect in fatal pedestrian crash

Police are asking for help finding the suspect involved in a fatal crash in South Austin.

Police said on Nov. 3 around 7:35 p.m., officers responded to a crash in the 600 block of W Ben White SVRD EB.

When officers arrived, they found a pedestrian, later identified as Angela Cantu, injured. She was taken to a local hospital but later died from her injuries.

The driver left the scene.

Police said the suspect’s vehicle left the 7-Eleven parking lot and turned onto South 1st Street, headed north onto 1st Street and then entered the Ben White SVRD eastbound.
