Traffic incident at Riverdale drive-thru leads to woman’s arrest

RIVERDALE, Utah – A woman is facing multiple road rage charges after she confronted another driver in a Riverdale restaurant drive-thru and then took money from the driver’s lap before walking away.

Kay Conde, 34, was arrested Wednesday, a day after the incident began on northbound Interstate 15 in Ogden.

According to the arrest report, cameras in a Tesla following Conde on the highway captured her “making multiple incorrect lane changes” and failing to “stay within one lane during the incident.”

With her two young children in the Tesla, the victim got off at the Riverdale Road exit and noticed Conde following him. When the victim entered the Habit Burger drive-thru, she was confronted by Conde, who began yelling and cursing, according to police.

“The victim had her one- and two-year-old children in the car with her and she stated that she was afraid for her safety when the suspect yelled at her and accused her of cutting her off while she was driving,” the arrest report said.

During the incident, Conde is accused of reaching into the Tesla and taking a $20 bill from the victim’s lap. Video from the Tesla showed Conde walking away with the money in her hand.

Using Conde’s license plate, police were able to track her to a rental car seen outside her home. After she was observed getting into the car, an officer conducted a traffic stop during which Conde admitted to being involved in the car
the incident from the previous day.

Conde was arrested for three misdemeanor counts of road rage, including theft, burglary and reckless driving.
