Man accused of robbing a Lincoln car salesman of $30,000 in cash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man accused of robbing a Lincoln car salesman of $30,000 in cash is expected to appear in Lancaster County District Court on Thursday.

On August 25, Lincoln police officers responded to a report of a robbery at Front-Line Auto near 48th Street and Adams Street.

The victim and the dealership employee told police that he had arranged to sell a vehicle to 30-year-old Daniel Doboyou of Pennsylvania through Facebook and text messages. Doboyou and another man arrived at the dealership and went into a back room with an employee to complete the sale.

During the sale, the victim grabbed a bag from the business containing $30,000 cash to deposit as it was the end of the day. As he walked through the store to place the bag in his car, Doboyou allegedly tackled him and stole the bag, police wrote.

Court documents show Doboyou then ran to a black car with Pennsylvania license plates and drove away with the second man he arrived with. The victim followed the vehicle all the way to 90th and Adams streets before the two men ran away on foot, police wrote.

Officers arrived on scene and did not find the suspects.

After further investigation, Lincoln Police positively identified one of the suspects as Doboyou.

Doboyou was later arrested and charged with theft, a class 2 misdemeanor.
