CIA, Mossad Chiefs Meet Qatar Prime Minister for Gaza Ceasefire, Hostage Talks: Report

The directors of the CIA and Israel’s Mossad will meet the Prime Minister of Qatar in Doha on Sunday to begin negotiations on a new short-term ceasefire in Gaza and the release of some hostages by Hamas in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners by Israel, an official briefed on the talks told Reuters.

The talks are aimed at getting Israel and Hamas to agree to a deal ceasefire in Gaza that would take less than a month, with the hope that it would lead to a more permanent agreement, the official said. The details of which and how many hostages and prisoners would be released as part of the deal are not yet clear, the official said.
