Jack Vidgen shares heartbreaking update from hospital bed: ‘I’m not doing well’

Jack Vidgen has shared a heartbreaking health update.

The reality TV star, 27, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a post from a rehabilitation center and revealed he had relapsed in his ongoing battle with addiction.

Jack, who has been in and out of treatment four times in recent years, told his followers he had a five-week relapse.

Alongside a photo of himself in his hospital bed, the singer admitted in the caption that he was apprehensive about sharing the update.

‘As I write this, I am so afraid of judgement. I’m terrified of what people will think, what they will say or whisper to each other when I pass them on the street. For years I have been so afraid of this thing that lives inside me and is my addiction,” he began.

‘I just wanted to let you in and let you know that I’m not doing well. For years I’ve heard the saying, “It’s okay not to be okay,” but I’ve never really known what that means. I feel like I understand it somewhat now.

‘I had a five-week relapse where I couldn’t catch my breath. My addiction has been the biggest struggle of my life and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy,” he continued.

Jack wasn’t sure what caused his latest struggle with addiction, but suspected the loss of two loved ones might have contributed.

“I had a good friend from 13 years ago, my uncle got sick and eventually died too, I had a lot of other stresses and I just don’t think I was looking for as much support as I needed,” he wrote.

Jack admitted he was concerned about how his latest stint in rehab would affect his career, but knew he had to prioritize his health.

In the comments of his heartfelt post, many of Jack’s famous friends offered their support and words of encouragement.

Comedian Dave Hughes wrote: ‘One moment at a time mate. To breathe. It’s all noise. You got this.”

‘You want to get better and that’s huge! You have the correct rights and are working on the tools and communication. You are going in the right direction! Won’t be easy. But I believe in you! You have already achieved so much in your life! You got this!’
