Chris Bumstead wins sixth Classic Physique title at Olympia 2024; Announces Retirement from Bodybuilding

Chris Bumstead won his sixth Classic Physqiue Olympia title before announcing his retirement from professional bodybuilding. The bodybuilding ace, also known as CBum, dominated the preliminary and final stages in Las Vegas, Nevada, to add another title to his career. With that, the man who was already the champion for the longest time in the history of the category added more time.

Chris Bumstead took the Olympia stage for the first time in 2017. That year, he finished in second place behind then-champion Breon Ansley. He placed second the following year in 2018 before beginning his dominant run since 2019. Since that win in 2019, Bumstead has become a poster boy for bodybuilding. And he has now announced his retirement. “The last dance,” Bumstead captioned his latest Instagram post.

However, CBum assured his fans that he will continue to be associated with the sports and fitness industry in the future.

“This may be the last time you see me here on this stage, but you will still see me around,” he said.

Notably, Chris Bumstead has evolved into one of the most recognizable faces in the sport. The reason is his performance in Classic Physique “O”, where he won more victories than any other athlete in the history of the category.

Chris Bumstead is not the only champion who retired from the Olympia stage over the weekend. In addition to CBum, eight-time Olympia winner Cydney Gillon also called it a career after her victory.
