Whoopsie, the creator of RuneScape’s newest MMO gets a single day delay, all because of “some kind of election on the 5th”

The co-creator of RuneScape’s upcoming MMO Brighter Shores has suffered a delay of exactly one day because there’s apparently an election coming up.

Hey, did you know there’s an election coming up in the US? You may have missed this fact, it’s not like it’s been all over the news no matter where you’re from for months on end even if you don’t even live in the US, but hey it’s the only major country in the entire world . world, right? Well, it turns out that RuneScape co-creator Andrew Gower kind of missed that fact, as before this week his newest MMORPG, Brighter Shores, was supposed to launch into early access on November 5th. honestly, it’s very easy to forget that this happened on the same date. Oops, daisy!

“We’ve decided to push back the release of Brighter Shores to November 6th because apparently there’s going to be some kind of election on the 5th – who knew?!” Gower tweeted, obviously being a little tongue-in-cheek. Now, Gower is British, so it’s genuinely understandable that he and the rest of the development team didn’t really realize that their game would be released on the same day as a massive election, but those mistakes have now been fixed. Now all of you across the pond can go out and vote without worrying about wasting Brighter Shores time (assuming there are no server issues, anyway).

Brighter Shoes actually has a closed beta that starts on October 22nd, so some of you will be able to try it out at least around the same time. On Steam, the game explains itself: “Brighter Shores is an all-new adventure from award-winning MMORPG designer Andrew Gower. Explore a land of magic and mystery, with a huge number of professions to try out and something new to find around every corner. Brighter Shores features an ongoing story and hundreds of hours of gameplay.”

Whether it will be able to capture the magic of RuneScape is another question, but most of you will only have to wait another day to find out.
