Car crashes in west Akron Swensons, injuring two; 30-year-old charged

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – A car crashed into a local Swensons, leading to a mobile solution for the restaurant.

According to Swensons, the crash happened just after 1:30 a.m. early Sunday morning at the west Akron location.

Akron police say a 30-year-old female driver faces several charges in the crash, including failure to maintain control.

Akron police say the driver also admitted to speeding.

According to Akron police, the driver and a worker suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The location is closed on Sunday, but will reopen on Monday in a different format.

A food truck will serve Swensons food from 11am to 11pm until the main building is repaired and reopens.
