Shooting of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 was halted after a bus carrying young artists fell over, seriously injuring six

Six junior artists of Kantara Chapter 1 were injured in an accident in Karnataka, due to which the shooting of the film was halted.

The shooting of the Kannada film Kantara Chapter 1 was stuck on Monday after a bus carrying a number of young artists involved in the film had an accident the night before. According to reports, six junior artists from the film have been hospitalized and the film’s production has been halted for the time being. How the accident occurred

PTI reported that six young artistes from Kantara were injured when the bus they were traveling in overturned in Udupi district. According to local police, the accident took place near Jadkal on Sunday evening when the minibus carrying the film crew overturned.

“The incident happened while they were returning to Kollur after completing the shoot at Mudoor in Jadkal. The minibus was carrying 20 young artistes when the accident took place,” a police officer told PTI. They said the injured were rushed to hospitals in Jadkal and Kundapur for treatment. Kollur police are investigating the case. News 18 reported that the six junior artists were hospitalized at the Jadkaal Mahalakshmi Clinic with serious injuries.

About Kantara Chapter 1

Kantara: Chapter 1 is the prequel to the 2022 sleeper hit Kantarastarring Rishab Shetty. Filming started in November last year. The first look and teaser were released on November 27, 2023. Earlier this month, a new poster for the film announced its release date as October 2, 2025. A first look teaser was also released. Kantara: Chapter 1 with Rishab Shetty, Jayaram and Jisshu Sengupta. Shetty has also returned as director.

Released in September 2022, Kantara was praised for showcasing the conflict between man and nature in coastal Karnataka through local folktales and traditions. The film was made on a budget of only 16 crore and a gross profit 400 crores. The movie was playing Shetty in a dual role, and also featured Sapthami Gowda, Kishore and Achyuth Kumar.
