Sugababes icon Keisha Buchanan has scared EastEnders fans by claiming the show will end next year.

Keisha, 40, is set to embark on a UK and European arena tour in 2025, and this weekend she appeared on Come strictly dance with band members Mutya Buena and Siobhán Donaghy promote the events.

Sadly, EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick was eliminated from the competition in the same performance.

The trio reunited in 2011 and revived the Sugababes name five years ago.

In addition to her musical endeavors, she is clearly a big fan of the BBC soap, which celebrates its festival 40th anniversary next year.

Taking to social media platform X, she wrote: ‘Just heard Eastenders is ending! It’s been around for as long as my memory goes. Whyyyyy?!! I’m really so sad.’

The update sparked fear among fans, who quickly shut her down and assured her that the show isn’t going anywhere. It later turned out that Mutya was the one who started the hoax.

‘Wait, was Mutya pulling my leg over Eastenders? Please confirm? She’s not on Twitter, but if she is, please help me get her back! I need ideas ASAP (nothing is too crazy as we have work on Monday Lol) I can’t believe she had me in my feelings all evening,” she wrote in the early hours of Saturday.

The group is known for a number of ’00s bops, including Overload and Push The Button.

We know you’re singing along…

The latter song made headlines in recent months when Coronation Street star Emrhys Cooper revealed it he appeared in the music video.

Released as the lead single from their album Bigger in more ways in September 2005, unsurprisingly, the song reached number 1 in the UK charts.

The song describes the sexual frustration a woman has because a man is oblivious to her signals, and in the video we see Keisha, Mutya and Heidi Range (who replaced Siobhán) flirting with three guys in an elevator.

One of the boys was none other than Emrhys, who played Corrie cult leader Rowan Cunliffe.

Now fully convinced that her favorite ongoing drama is going from strength to strength, Keisha begins to take revenge on Mutya.

“I have a plan,” she wrote with a wink: “Watch this space.”

Fans started putting forward their own ideas about how she could get her own back, with one saying: ‘Girl I don’t think the BBC will ever end EastEnders. (Especially) not after the great run they had with The Six.”

Keisha replied, “Phew! Lol,” and honestly, she spoke for all of us by saying that.
