Girl, eight, and man, 34, seriously injured in shooting in west London

An eight-year-old girl and a man in his 30s have been seriously injured in a double shooting in west London.

At 5.34pm on Sunday 24 November, the Metropolitan Police were called to Southern Row in Kensington following reports of a shooting.

Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, which treated two people for gunshot wounds. A 34-year-old man and an eight-year-old girl were then taken to a hospital.

Chief Inspector Owen Renowden, responsible for Kensington and Chelsea Police, said: “This is a horrific incident which has left two people seriously injured, including a young girl who is thankfully in a stable condition this morning.

“I am appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting.

“Did you hear gunshots last night around 5:30 p.m.? Have you seen anyone fleeing the area?

“We would like to hear from anyone with information regarding this incident. Your information is important, no matter how insignificant you think it is.”

The man’s condition is still unclear, although police have confirmed that the girl’s injuries are not life-threatening. A 32-year-old woman was also taken to hospital as a precaution, but was not injured.

The investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.
