Kantara: Chapter 1 shoot is going as planned, no injuries reported in bus accident

Several reports suggested that the shoot of Rishab Shetty’s film Kantara: Chapter 1 was halted after a bus accident near the sets. However, a new statement shared by the film team on Monday, November 25, stated that the film’s filming is continuing as scheduled and that no crew member was injured in the bus accident.

The statement included a source close to the production who confirmed that the shooting started at 6 a.m. on Monday and that the accident occurred 20 km away from the shooting location. It was further stated that the vehicle in which the accident took place was a local bus and only a few members of the Kantara team were present in it.

“The news doing the rounds is completely false. The Kantara: Chapter 1 team started shooting today at six in the morning and everything is going normally. Twenty kilometers from the shooting location, a minor accident occurred, involving a local bus was with some members of the Kantara team. However, no injuries were reported,” the statement said.

The viral reports suggested that as many as six crew members and supporting cast members of the film were injured in the bus accident. They were reportedly rushed to Jadkaal Mahalakshmi Clinic for immediate medical attention. According to reports, the accident took place when the members were returning to Kollur after shooting in Mudoor in Karnataka.

A report in News18 said the bus was carrying about 20 young artists, six of whom were seriously injured in the accident.

Meanwhile, Kantara: Chapter 1, written and directed by Rishab Shetty, is aiming for a worldwide release on October 2, 2025. The film is a prequel to Shetty’s 2022 blockbuster mythological action film.
