The government has called on students to remain calm and not get involved in conflict.

“If any reason is found behind such clashes, strict action will be taken,” Chief Adviser’s press officer Shafiqul Alam said today (Nov 25) in the wake of clashes between students of different colleges in Dhaka city.

Speaking to BSS, Shafiqul Alam said that the government is keeping an eye on the recent clashes in various educational institutions.


“We urge students to remain calm and not get involved in any form of clash,” the press secretary said.

He said the government is investigating whether there is any provocation behind such clashes.

Alam warned that any attempt to create instability in any part of the country, including educational institutions, would be sternly resisted.


Earlier in the day, students from Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College (DMRC) clashed with that of Kabi Nazrul Government College and Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College.

Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College (DMRC) principal Ashraf Samir claimed in a press release that three of their students had been killed in clashes.

Yesterday, students from Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Molla College vandalized the main entrance of the Dhaka National Medical College and Hospital (DNMCH) in Old Dhaka, over medical malpractice and irregularities in the treatment of 18-year-old student Abhijit Halder, who died during treatment. .

Last night, a clash took place between students of Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) and Dhaka Polytechnic Institute. At least 20 students injured in the clash were treated at the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
