Bishop TD Jakes suffers a ‘health incident’ during Sunday service

Bishop TD Jakes suffered an apparent medical emergency at the end of Sunday’s service at The Potter’s House of Dallasduring a prayer.

Jakes gave an hour-long sermon on Sunday.

As he was finishing his errand, Jakes had what The Potter’s House called a “health incident.”

Video of the incident from the Potter’s House stream posted on social media shows Jakes freezing while standing on stage and lowering his microphone as he begins to shake.

Several people quickly surrounded Jakes.

“Back up, back up, give him some space,” someone said.

The flow ended shortly afterwards.

Since then, The Potter’s House of Dallas has released a statement saying, “Bishop TD Jakes experienced a minor health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message. Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. The House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support from the community.”

The church did not share details about what may have led to the health incident.

Jakes, 67, founded The Potter’s House Church in Dallas in 1996.
