Three people are seriously injured in an accident on the A14 Newmarket

A gray Volvo and a blue Peugeot were also involved.

The driver of the Volvo, a 45-year-old man from Wymondham, Norfolk, suffered serious injuries. The Nissan and Peugeot drivers were unharmed.

A fifth unidentified vehicle left the scene before officers arrived.

Det Sergeant Craig Wheeler said: “This was a nasty collision which left three people seriously injured.

“I would like to hear from anyone who was driving in the eastbound or westbound lanes and has dashcam footage of the collisions taking place, or of vehicles passing through the scene at any time.

“I would also appeal to the occupants of the vehicle that left the scene to get in touch as you may have crucial information that could greatly assist our investigation.”
