Paloma rose to prominence last year when her single ‘Labour’ went viral after resonating with audiences on TikTok. Speak with NME at the timePaloma said: “It’s so powerful to me that people have brought such personal experiences to the job. It is a means for women and people from all kinds of fields to resonate with the subject.”

Ahead of the release of ‘Cacophony’ she also spoke with NME about building on the success of ‘Labour’ and creating a larger body of work. “Genres are funny. I keep talking to people lately and we’re noticing that genres – they’re not becoming obsolete – but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to define what your genre is with fewer words, and I think this is a very exciting time to come in,” she told us.

“I don’t feel very pigeonholed, and when I think of my genre I think of so many words like ‘indie’, ‘folk’, ‘alternative’, ‘singer-songwriter’… I sometimes get ‘witch -pop’ . I’m looking forward to not being prescribed one thing anymore.”
