Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre is surprised by the struggles of the New York Jets and former teammate Aaron Rodgers during the 2024 season.

“I have to admit, I’m as shocked as anyone because I was singing the praises of the team, and of course Aaron,” Favre said via TMZ Sports (0:20 point).

The Athletics Dianna Russini previously reported that there is “no guarantee” Rodgers will return to the Jets in 2025, although Favre was not convinced he would end his career in New York on a low note.

“I find it hard to believe that a competitor of the magnitude that Aaron has been over the years would go that way if it ended today,” Favre told TMZ.

After a 2-1 start to the season, the Jets would lose seven of their next eight games and currently sit at 3-8.

Rodgers has completed 63.4 percent of his throws for 2,442 yards and 17 touchdowns to go along with seven interceptions in 11 appearances. He is currently averaging 6.4 yards per attempt, the lowest mark of his career as a starter.

The Jets also own the NFL sixth worst scoring foul.

Favre followed a similar career path to Rodgers, playing one season with the Jets after spending 16 years with the Green Bay Packers. He led New York to a 9-7 record in 2008 and earned a Pro Bowl nod before joining the Minnesota Vikings.

As for the current Jets, a Hall of Fame passer was among those confused by the team’s disappointing season.
