TN man accused of sending child porn via Snapchat

BYRDSTOWN, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Tennessee man is facing charges after a cyber tip led to the discovery of child pornography sent via a social media messaging app, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The TBI reports that child sexual abuse material was found on a Snapchat account, prompting an investigation in Pickett County.

In October, agents received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a Snapchat account that sent files containing child pornography from June through July. During the investigation, the TBI determined that the account belonged to Rodney Griffin of Byrdstown.

On November 20, Griffin was arrested by the Pickett County Sheriff’s Office and charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor (100+ images). He was booked into the Pickett County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
