Third deputy dies in tragic Loxahatchee crash after days of fighting for his life

The third deputy involved in a crash in Loxahatchee – who claimed the life of two other alternates – died after fighting for his life for several days.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) announced Monday morning that Deputy Ignacio “Dan” Diaz died five days after the fatal crash on Southern Boulevard on November 21.

“We once again mourn the loss of our brothers who dedicated their lives to serving and protecting Palm Beach County. We stand together, honor their memory and support their families, friends and colleagues during this time of tremendous grief. Deputy Diaz, along with Corporal Luis Paez and Deputy Sheriff Ralph “Butch” Waller, were struck near the Arden Clubhouse while riding their motorcycles.
